Jeremy Adams said...

4:7-8 Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Esteem her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you.

Back in chapter 3 in verses 19-20 we read that by wisdom the Lord laid the earth's foundation, by understanding he set the heavens in place.

And in 4:5 it says not to forget his words, do not swerve from them.

Swerve from them? Just in the first four chapters of Proverbs so far we have read so much about wisdom, understading and kowledge. You start to think why would anyone swerve from them, but we do. We do things we know we shouldn't, we run from facing too tough of obstacles at times, we sometimes even step back as if we are allowed to take timeouts from being faithful. And when we know better that is certaily swerving! Ducking, hiding, running away, avoiding, or how about simply DISOBEYING!

Why? When we read things like this that really break down just how much of a blessig it is that these things are even available to us!

4:4 Lay hold of my words with all your heart; keep my commands and you will live."

My eyes are about as open as Tommy Chong's on a South American vacation about right now so if this doesn't make sense, my bad!
(Not that I am under the influence, just really, really tired!)
