I have been playing catrch up on a lot of reading just wondering if anyone one knows how many times did John call himself the disciple that Jesus loved. (No ego involved with guy.)

In this last chapter we find Peter and some of the others fishing. Peter denied Christ, he let down his friend and denied his savior. I would think that he would be down on himself and discouraged so what does he do? He goes back to the life he had before he knew Christ back to being a fisherman. What if the story stopped here. They went back to life as fishermen. I am so thankful that the story does not stop here. Jesus meets Peter on the beach, he feeds him breakfast,(takes care of the physical before the spiritual) and then restores Peter. I am so thankful that our God is not only a God of second chances but also a God of Restoration. That I can learn from my mistakes and still move forward and have a huge impact on the kingdom. Yea God.

15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
16 Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."
17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."

Jesus said, "Feed my sheep.

I've often wondered if Jesus asked Peter 3 times because Peter denied Him 3 times.

How many times does He have to ask me if I love Him......how many times by my words and actions have I denied Him.

Father-Forgive me for not showing you and your glory to everyone I know. I pray you never have to ask me again if I love you.
