6:14-18 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waste, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to al this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

WOW! Anyone else ever used to view the Bible as just another book, even though deep down you knew better? Isn't it amazing the differrence of knowing what unbelievably incredible gifts we are blessed with and the massive ignorance that blinded us when we didn't know?

I love how 14-18 describes how our amazing God equips us for EVERYTHING! Once again, that is something I need to do a better job of, knowing He is where I need to be focused on no matter what is going on. That NOTHING stands a chance against what He has blessed me with if I don't allow it to!

Put on the armor of God.

We don't have to buy it, rent it or wait our turn. God's armor is there for us to put on every morning when we wake up to battle the giants! We never know what the day will hold. But God does. Don't you supose that is why he gave us such battle gear?

The battle does not belong to us, it belongs to God. He tells us to know our resources (God); be strong in him; focus on him and his power; put on the armor of God everyday; pray constantly; walk in victory. And when we think we cannot go one more inch, stand. I love that, all we have to do is stand. We have equipped ourselves with all the battle gear he has given us and we only have to stand. The battle has been won, we have the victory!

It's like having an umbrella, you know it's raining, yet you leave it sitting beside the bed. You venture out into the rain. Guess what??? You are gonna get wet!

Same thing, only on a much bigger scale - you know the enemy is all around, waiting at the door for you. You go out into the world and he attackes and you are defeated. Why? You left your covering beside the bed.

Thank you Father for the battle gear and the victory! Forgive me when I don't use it. Help me to remember to take you with me everywhere I go everyday!
