2:3 "Yet not even Titus, who was with me, was compelled to be circumcised, even though he was a Greek."
I can't say I blame him.

2:10- "All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor,"
It appears that one of the non-negotiables of those who were closest to Jesus was that we remember the poor and develop a way of life with them. Jesus was so close to the poor. "He was rich, but for your sake, he became poor." (2 Corinthians 8:9)
Lord, please don't let us forget the poor, and let us follow in your footsteps.

Galatians 2:10

10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.

Paul was eager to help the poor.

Lord make me eager.

2:5 We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might remain with you.

This verse got me thinking. And after I reset the smoke alarms I found myself praying that I would be so devoted to glorifying God that I would NEVER again "give in" to anything that would jeopardize pointing ANYONE He will put in my path toward Him. And most certainly not steer them the other way!

I need to do a better job of CONSTANTLY acknowledging that being a Christ follower brings a responsibility of "not giving in" and not just for my sake but for the sake of those the Lord has blessed me with the opportunity to point to Him. And as a father how could I ever make a decision that might even just possibly influence my children to turn their back on our God? As a friend? Son, Uncle, Grandson, even stranger?

Lord by the power of your Spirit let me stand firm in the face of disobedience and persecution, and for so much more than for me!
