22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

I love these verses. After I FINALLY gave it all to God and allowed him to put the person in my life that he had for me, this comes so easy. Well, not at first. I try really hard to not be this way, but I still like to be in control.

I came to peace with being single and told God that if I was to ever marry again he would have to put the man right in front of me. And he did. God gave me everything I had prayed for in Walter. I was like a lot of women, who had been the responsible one and I didn't want to do that anymore. I wanted a godly man who I could submit to and who would lead me and take care of me and everything that goes with that.

I think what people miss when they read this scripture is the unspoken. Or at least what is unspoken to me. Jesus tells wives to submit to their husbands, but I think the unspoken is that husbands have to have the relationship with God and live the life worthy of being submitted to. Maybe I have that all wrong, but it is very hard to submit to someone who says they are a Christian, yet lives like the devil. Make sense??

I thank God for my marriage for my godly husband.
